Does anyone have a timeline on what years Sabre made the MK 1,2&3

28-1. 1971 through 1975. Original design. single port lights in main cabin

1976- 1983? 28-2. Early 76s had single port lights. Later 76 and on had 2 port lights, t-shaped cockpit, aft access with aft locker, anchor locker, deck stretched to 28'10", different cabin profile, improved rudder design. Minor changes to interior layout (qtr berth batteries) starting in 1978.

1983 -on- 28-3. New deeper keel (peterson fin), mid boom sheeting, upgraded interior, taller rig.

PHRF- Series 1- 195-198
Series 2- 198-201
Series 3 186-192
If you want a PHRF killer, find a Series 1 with tiller and small diesel. Take everything extraneous out of the boat, upgrade with better mainsheet, vang, folding prop etc and a good set of racing sails. You will bring home the gold more often than not and still have a great handling boat that you can safely coastal cruise.
