Comfortable Liveaboard Center Cockpit

Hi all,

I'm looking to move down to San Diego and buy a bigger boat and liveaboard for a few years. Through my research and visiting other people's boats I feel comfortable with something 40 feet for myself and my wife and occasional visitors. Looking around the most appealing boats are center cockpit. My favorites so far have been the Lancer 40, 39' O'day, Irwin 42, Endeavor 38, Morgan 41 Out Island and Beneteau Evasion.

Anything else I should be searching for on yachtworld?

-Nate

Beneteau had some nicecenter cockpits in teh late 90's...the 36CC used the same hull as the next gen 361 and actually sailed quite well...I believe there was a 40 and a 44...

My hunter 42 is roomy for liveaboard...the admiral saw the center line queen in the aft cabin and decision made..

My Morgan OI 41 has done me well for the last 25 years from Maine to the Bahamas. Sure, I like that Hallberg-Rassey, but not seen for the price. Take care and joy, Aythya crew

A couple more....C&C Landfall 39 and 48.... the latter is more of a pilothouse/enclosed cockpit style of boat.

CSY 44 [possibly the rare walk thru might suit you better esp if you plan to live on the hook] - 400 galls water!

Also check out the Morgan 461/2 - good liveaboard.

Don't assume the walk-through will suit you best. We like the privacy of the totally separate cabin and the larger engine room that is present in the center cockpit without the walk-through. Of course, everything is a compromise on a boat, but some might not favor giving up functional space for a hallway and some models use this "hallway" very efficiently.
Take care and joy, Aythya crew
