Alerion 33 Reefing

I'm interested in any owner opinions on the single reefing system of the Alerion 33. Is the standard Alerion 33 setup (single reef) optimal or are there any suggestions for improvement (ie second reef? or move the existing reef lower in the sail?).

Thanks

tommays will become famous soon enough
It depends on what your going to do BUT a single deep reef will take you well into the this is really NO fun wind range (35+ knots)

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

Are you talking about single line reefing, or a main with one or two sets of reef points? (Two sets of reef points are better for day sailing and cruising, but that said, most day sailor aren't going to be going out in double reef conditions which leads us back to the 'maybe one set of reef points is fine'... Hope that confuses things!

PS, give you local sail maker a call... they're full of good advice and knowledge of local conditions if you're unsure.
