Pearson Flyer

I owned a Flyer for 11 years. It is a great sailing boat, if you aren''t looking for a cruising interior. It is basically a daysailor or weekender, although my wife and I took a couple of 9 day trips down the coast a ways as well as many weekend trips. The quarter berths are very comfy.

The fractional rig is great. Keeps the jibs small and you can sail just fine with just a main up when you are feeling lazy. Forestay and shrouds are pretty beefy.

The boat sails like a big dinghy, so you need to tend the tiller at all times.

Hull and deck is balsa cored. Our inboard had been replaced with a Yanmar 1GM10 which worked great. Boat seemed underpowered with the engine, but the guy that bought ours put on a different prop and had much better powering at the expense of some additional drag.

There is more info around on the internet, but I''ll answer any questions that I can.
