coronado 25?

Any feedback on these? A friend is looking to buy one soon, as a coastal cruiser. I''ve had a hard time finding anything about them on the net.

Thanks.

coronado 25?

I spent all last winter living on a Coronado 25 in Marathon. My biggest problem with it was the 5''6 headroom. If you are short enough, they are a good little boat. However, you are limited about the engine size due to the small engine compartment and the outboard engine stays "down" all the time, giving you something to clean often. Any specific questions?

coronado 25?

a friend of mine just purchased a Coronado 25 the other day and asked me if I want to crew with him in the around Long Island Regatta. I was concerned that these boats are not built for this type of sailing ( coastal racing)

Re: coronado 25?

I'm looking to upgrade the engine in my C25 from a Nissan 6 to something larger. The 6 is completely hidden in the rear compartment, and I would love to keep it that way. Does anyone know of an 8 that will fit?

A two-stroke 8 will fit, and probably latch fully up. I had a 4-stroke Honda 9.9 in mine. That SOB was heavy, only latched half-way up, and the lower unit still sat in the water. I do not recommend this.

The 4-stroke powerheads are larger, and did not exist when this boat was built. Look for a Tohatsu 8.

Re: coronado 25?

I'm guessing there is a cutout for the 9.9 so that the engine shows through to the outside. You think the Tohatsu 8 will avoid that scenario? The Nissan 6 in mine is still slightly in the water anyway, so i'll be doing work no matter what!

Re: coronado 25?

Yes, I had a cutout on the stern, but it appeared to be factory made. Perhaps I'm mistaken. The only way to know for sure is to test-fit.
