Island Trader 38

One of my sailing buddies is looking at an Island Trader 38. He asked my opinion (silly guy). Well, this is a new one to me. Do any of you have any first hand experiences I can pass on to him.

He currently has a C&C 30 (his third sailboat)

This will be quite a departure from his C&C 30.. and I'd wonder if this particular model might fall into the 'leaky teaky Taiwanese' category like so many of the trawlers that came out of that era.

Of course if it's still in good shape and has been maintained then perhaps most of those types of issues have been addressed.

But as a full keel heavy displacement boat, I'd be hoping his sailing plans are different than what he's been up to till now.
