Help with boat purchase

Hello everyone. I am looking at a 1990 Hunter 42 Centercockpit currently located in Florida. From the flyer, it seems well equipped for liveaboard and cruising in the Caribbean. My plans are to winter in the Caribbean, put the boat in a DIY yard for the summer to do any work needed. Any suggestions or comments about this boat would be appreciated.

Good choice for Caribbean cruiisng esp. if you like to sleep with your partner as the aft cabin centre line queen is by far the best of it's type in that size of boat. Nice ensuite too.

I like the fact that the early 42 Passages had a backstay and when we looked at one my partner loved the sugar scop stern layout with the built in lockers.

Downside some have lost their rudders which are vulnerable worth a really close inspection on survey IMHO.

If it has a generator it might be mounted above the main engine making access to both a nightmare.

It is a Hunter which means you have to put up with some condescension from Bene owners

I liked the one I looked at and had it down as a definite maybe. Would have removed the genny and sold it - ready market in Florida and added solar.
