Advice 27''''Catalina Before I sign

I made a offer of $8,600 on a 1975 27'' Catalina W/slip (two year wait list in Oceanside) Have sea-trial Friday. Any comment or advice would be very appreciated.
Thanks Lou Muth Vista, Ca.

Advice 27''''Catalina Before I sign

You should absolutely have it surveyed before you buy. If this is an outboard, I would tend to think the price is a little high for a ''75, but I suppose you have a better handle on what thses boats are going for.

I have cruised for a week on a 70''s 27 and I thought it was a good boat for the money.

Catalina 27s

There are two Catalina 27s for sale in my marina, both are late 70 early 80’s `one in fare condition and outboard $3500 asking, the other is, well taken care of with diesel $4500 asking. Both boats are in water so can’t address blisters. Depending on how far you have to transport and cost these may be a better deal.

Guys, the price he offered includes the slip, so ihe's also paying for not having a two year wait for that.

Unless you are primarily after the slip, be sure to get the boat thoroughly checked and properly surveyed! In our area that would be a reasonable deal for a C27in good condition and a decent engine. You don't say where you are and prices do vary by region, particularly on Catalinas.

Guys, the last few posts here were responding to the initial poster from 2003--he has likely made his decision by now, so it's probably a non-issue.
Frank.
