30 foot leigh Morris


Looking for a little help, my friend is trying to sell her sailboat and I thought the best place to start would be to get some feedback from those in the know, that's you.
She has a 30 foot Morris sailboat, deisel engine rebuilt, the head was rebuilt to comply with sanitary code(no longer dumps overboard) the sails are in good shape, the cabin is plain not what you would expect from Morris but it is the original hull #1 model, the rail is split and the radar has to be installed after they restep the mast.

Looking for some help on pricing this sailboat before swimming with the sharks.
Does it have any extra value because it's hull # 1,what would be a do not take less than xxxxxxx price or a good starting price, are there other sites I should be checking out etc. any help would be very much appreciated. pictures at :

many have addressed your concerns there...no need to open another thread to add pictures. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news,

but If the pictures are recent, and in this market....you have a lot of clean up/work/varnishing to do to sell the boat at any price. Buyers will not spend a long minute looking at a boat that is not ship shape, well sorted and in bristol condition. Especially a Morris. The chaos they see will cause most to believe that needed maintenance has not been done on the things they can not see.

Wow! That is tough to look at any Morris in that state. I'd have to agree with everything that kd3pc has said!

As this is the first year with my Leigh I have to say its a great sailing boat and is built strong and sound so... someone looking for a project may be interested but it would have to be a great deal for them. Seriously I would not expect you to get much over 20-25K given its current state. And I say that much only because it's a Morris. If you get serious about fixing it up first (which will cost $) then you could double that amount.
