Customs Broker Recommendation

Hi all;

Does anyone have a recomendation for a Customs Broker
to assist me in purchasing a boat in Toronto and importing
it back to Chicago?

I'm considering purchasing a trailerable sailboat and driving it
back into the US from Toronto. Has anyone hired a reliable
Customs Broker to help them with this process?

Thanks,
Steve

Pacific Customs Brokers (Pacific Customs Brokers Inc. - International Trade Solutions) can handle your paperwork for you. Tell them Brian Lang sent you.

Note: I work for a company that manages the computer & servers for Pacific Customs Brokers. I am not directly employed by them.

If you are bringing the boat back yourself, you shouldn't need a customs broker. I did this last year. Easy.

What kind of boat?

This is easy to do yourself. All you need is a customs bond and if you are careful in your wording ("could you please tell me who files most of the bonds with you?") the C&I folks will tell you who to go to.

I used Pacific Customs Brokers to clear my Columbia 43. Cost $150 IIRC and was more than worth it to avoid any customs hassles. DO NOT go on information you may obtain by calling Canada Customs - if I had listened to them it would have cost me $thousands - fortunately for me an American truck driver knew more about Canada Customs rules than they did.

I, myself, personally intend to continue being outspoken and opinionated, intolerant of all fanatics, fools and ignoramuses, deeply suspicious of all those who have "found the answer" and on my bad days, downright rude.

Re: Customs Broker Recommendation

I think this trusted straightforwardchb.com can do a better freight forwarding and clearance job perfectly without any delay.

Thanks

Re: Customs Broker Recommendation

I've gone through a couple of customs broker and the best one I've dealt with is baycitybrokers.com The people there are really easy to deal with and reliable. Just my two cents.
