J/24?

One thing that I can''t seem to find out about the J22 is if it can have an outboard placed on it or if it has a bracket for one. My only problem is that without an engine it is nearly impossible (we have done it) to enter the breakwater and move up the canal to the dock where I keep my boats on sail alone.

J/24?

Some J22''s have outboard brackets but most don''t.

J/24?

Is the J27 more like the J22 rather than the J24?

J/24?

I raced a J-27 for 3 summers and really did not like the boat that much. (I did like the crew on the boat so I stayed). The J-27 is somewhere in between the two in design concept (narrow with generous sail area like a J22 but requiring a big crew to race like a J-24). The J-27 has a large cockpit but the running backstays make them less than ideal as a single-hander. They are also pretty deep. I would strongly suggest a Laser 28 over the J-27 which is what the former J-27 owner ended up buying.

J/24?

I appreciate all the ideas. I think I have narrowed my search to the J-22, a Catalina 27, or a Beneteau 235. THe only thing that bothers me about the J-22 is that it is a little on the small side but I like the speed.
