I am looking for a 36-40 sailboat to refurbish. I have read alot about the construction of the CSY 37 but can find nothing on how well they sail. I would love to hear your comments.

Also, can you think of any others that would be good candidates for a complete refit inside and out, ie:well built, solid hulls & good sailing characteristics with dated interiors and equipment?

Thanks

Ian

I own a 33 so I can''t say specifically about the 37. There are also a lot of 44''s as well.
The boats are heavy solid glass and can stand a lot of abuse. They won''t be the best boat at pointing or light air.

All that aside they are stout and comfortable vessles. Myself I like the 33 beter but the 37 is sort of inbetween. Not really bigger than the 33 given the extra aft cabin but no where near as large as the 44. My 33 has the same size salon as the 44 and no aft cabin. They have a rasie cabin so the ports let in a lot of light.

Here are a couple links if your search engine failed to find them already:

The last is the mail list for CSY. The one on sailnet is very much dead.
