do a search(classic line). I know they''ve been discussed. they don''t look too bad. only been on one once, and it was completely reburbished.

If memory serves me right they were all sandwich core boats and had allot of problems with the hull. The sandwich core is weak and is not as strong as a solid glass hull. You might want to think this out and look at some other boats.

With all due respect, sailnaway, you are wrong on all counts. There were two Seafarer 26''s built during the life of the company. Neither were cored hulls. The first boat was an extremely heavily built Phillip Rhodes design constructed in Holland and the second was pretty nicely built McCurdy and Rhodes design. Neither had hull problems that I ever heard of.

On your other point, cored hulls done with care are actually stronger than a non-cored hull and are considered to be more durable over the long haul because they are less prone to fatigue.

Respectfully,
Jeff

Hello Yeto,
I haven''t had a Seafarer 26, but i did own a 1983 Seafarer 23 that was the smaller version of the same design. I really liked my boat, it was very stable, it took a twenty five mph breeze to put the rail down with full sail up. The other side of that is, they are not racers. If you intend to race the boat, look elsewere.
The 26 has over 6'' headroom, that''s pretty unusual for a 26 footer. The only problem that i am aware of is the rudder (American made boats only), they are notorious for electrolisis eating the lower attachment away. It''s not that terrible of a problem, although it''s not a cheap fix either, assuming you would have someone repair it.
Whatever you decide, Good luck
