Sailboat Data does say there were both shoal draft and and keel/CB options on the 34 Mk II bit I don't think I have ever seen a CB version.

I didn't know Cooper built the 34 II here. I'm surprised there aren't more of them around. He must have made a few bucks off the 26's and the Catalina 27's he built, judging by their numbers.

Columbias were apparently built under license in various countries, Europe included I have learned. It's funny, i belong to a UK forum, interesting the boats from the US that turn up. Catalina of course being number 1. Jaguar they are called in the UK.

I guess Coopers sold more 26's than 34's, but we built a fair number of 34 interiors.

A surprising number of boats from here have been built under license in Europe. My own Kirby 1/4 ton was built by Trapper in England. The guy I bought mine from commissioned the design from Kirby, raced it at the worlds in France and then sold it to Trappers instead of shipping it home - they used it as the plug for a production version. They also built the C&C 27 under license. The Coronado 35 & 41 were built there - in Italy IIRC. They fetch a much higher price there than they do here even though, from what I can tell, they were built to the same standard. Imagine a Coronado 41 with a teak deck! I've seen them advertised over there.

hump180 is on a distinguished road
Buy the bigger boat...source a proper engine....and be comfortable. Sell your outboards to raise money if you have to.
