Surveyor Recommendations SF Bay?

Hello!

Can anyone recommend a good surveyor for a pre-purchase survey of a 1975 Cal 2-29 in SF Bay?
Thanks for your help!

Hi Greg,

Bill Melbostad was very helpful for my own pre-purchase survey of my present boat - he also helped me out with a supplemental report for my insurance company evidencing that I had repaired the issues they expressed concern with. Nice guy and a great sailor -he's a division champion in the local Melges fleet. I've copied his contact info below.

Cheers,
hugh

Jack Mackinnon is a SAMs Surveyor. He's been around forever and is the guy many surveyors go to when they have questions. Also one of the nicest guys you will ever meet! (510) 276-4351
Jack has saved me a LOT of money more than once!

The Cal's a great boat, but you are wise to get any boat of that vintage surveyed. Money well spent! I suggest you be present for the survey. With a good surveyor, you will learn a lot.
All the best, see ya on the bay!
