anyone have any information on USYACHTS, in particular a 27'', 1983. I have heard both good and bad reports concerning the quality of construction. any info will help. thank you.

By any fair and reasonable analysis these were pretty poorly constructed boats. To some extent US Yachts has become the poster child for poorly built inexpensive boats. The 27 was aledgely built a little better than than earlier smaller boats. To make things worse the 27 was an IOR design with all of the negatives that that implies. The 27 had a bit of a strange layout with the galley quite far forward across from the head.
