Any CT34 Owners out there?

I would like to contact any CT34 owners. I'm looking at one. Would you consider the CT34 a go anywhere boat. From what I've read, it is. Some say that the Tayana 37 came from this boat, but I've read Bob Perry's book and he makes no mention of the CT34.

Oh well, I guess no CT34 owners out there. There weren't very many made, 40 or 44 or something. Thanks anyway.

I don't mention the CT34 because it is not my design. It was designed by CS Chen one of the brothers who owned the yard. Maybe it was ST Chen. I get them confused. There were four brothers, CT, CS, ST and Wayne. Good people. I think the origins of the 34 lay in an old Rhodes design that one of the Chens took and added a canoe stern to. The Tayana 37 design preceeds the CT34 as far as I know. I used to get a kick out of some of the promotional material for the CT34 as it listed the designer as R.E. Perry.
I am R. H. Perry. R. E. Perry was my dear old Dad and he never designed a boat.

Bob, have you ever tallied up the number of designs you have been credited with but which you had nothing to do with?

I, myself, personally intend to continue being outspoken and opinionated, intolerant of all fanatics, fools and ignoramuses, deeply suspicious of all those who have "found the answer" and on my bad days, downright rude.

Thanks Bob, I didn't think you had anything to do with the CT34. You read all kinds of things on the internet. I did buy and read your book " Yacht Design According To Perry, My Boats and What Shaped Them ". I enjoyed it very much and learned a lot as well. I've been on my boat search for a little over a year. The Tayana 37 has been at the top of the list from the beginning. I've had people suggest I look at all kinds of double enders. The three that are still standing with me are the Tayana 37, Union 36, Westsail 32.

Thanks for buying my book. It's not exactly a runaway best seller.

JonB:
No. That would be hard to do. I'm not sure where I would start. Not even sure it matters anymore. Sort of a "blood under the bridge" thing. I kind of "adopt" the boats that had my name attached. No one else is going to be there to help the owners.

I once had a woman send me a check for $1,000 for a boat I did not design but had my name attached. She thought she was doing the "right thing. I sat down to write her a thank you note and then I had an idea. I drew her one of my cartoons of her boat and sent the original to her as a thank you. She loved it.
