Pearson 10m

Hi,

there is a pearson 10m for sale in NJ on ebay; it has been there on and off for a few months. Does anyone know more about it? I live on west coast.

Looking a little further afield, I'd recommend asking your question over at PearsonOwners. I'm sure you'll get some frank talk about their experiences. If I were thinking about a Pearson, I'd be particularly taken with a board called Ask a Pearson Owner.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try there as well.

I know a fair amount about Pearson 10M boats, but it is this one in particular I am curious about; History and current condition. I know that if I really want to know more I will have to go take a look or hire a local surveyor, but thought I would poll the forum prior to that.

The only things I would be worried about are wet decks and a lack of a mast step. These boats had the mast directly onto the keel and in the bilge and they would corrode. Most have been refiitted by now, but that would be a question to ask.

These boats are tough boats. I love mine have yet to find another boat in it's size range that is roomy, yet high performance, for that price point.

Did you purchase the 10M? If not I have one if you are interested. I have done many upgrades, most recently took out the A4 and replaced it with a Universal M25 diesel and performed all the updates including a completely new engine control panel. I also have a full set of sails that can come with the boat.

I am looking to get a 42' boat which is the only reason I am selling.

Besides I am on the west coast in the SF Bay area.
