North Sea 33 Pilothouse

Hi all,
As some of you know, we're shopping for a pilothouse to take us the BC coast next summer. Moonfish's North Sea 33 is for sale right now, and we went down to view this past weekend. Unfortunately, he hasn't had the time to keep up maintenance with it over the past six years, so it's suffering from significant neglect. From the things I can see, I'm not too too concerned.... certainly time and money, but it's the things that I can't see that are the big question marks for us at the moment.

I would love to hear from any of the other North Sea 33 owners out there (Strangeflow and JWdR), but anyone else who has had any input regarding the design or construction of these boats. (not sure if Strangeflow and JWdR are keeping up with sailnet at the moment or not)

Thanks in advance!! -Scott

Re: North Sea 33 Pilothouse

Apparently I can't send PMs to Strangeflow or JWdR until I've posted a few more messages... if anyone has contact info for either of them, I would really appreciate a PM! Thanks!

You should be good to go now... 15 is the magic number, I believe.

Fifteen eh ? Damn, I think I told someone it was only ten and that someone might have been the Trombone.

It's definitely 15. Not 10. Or 76.

Re: North Sea 33 Pilothouse

Are you open to boats from the island? There's a sweet CS33 I like the looks of there. Even more so after comparing her to her sistership in the next berth. Seemed well cared for, taking offers on 34... They've been taking offers for a month now.

Re: North Sea 33 Pilothouse

Quick update:
We are now the proud new owners of the above-mentioned North Sea 33. It's in true 'project' condition... after being neglected for the past five years or so, but I like the boat a lot, and it'll be worth the effort. She's up on the hard now in Vancouver, and we're just starting into a summer of land-yachting... almost all costmetic work, but starting with a complete exterior paint job. Looking into walnut blasting right now if anyone has any input on the matter (want to remove all bottom-paint and strip/prep the topsides for new paint... maybe the deck/house while I'm at it... sigh... hehe).
