does any one have any experience with Hylas boats or know anywhere we can get info as to the live aboard-ness and cruising abilities? we have a friend getting ready to sell a 44'' and we could have the opportunity to buy it before he lists it w/ a broker.our knowing the selling party, assures us the boat is in as good a condition as possible. seems to be adequately outfitted although he never lived aboard and did very little serious cruising. i intend to have the boat surveyed but would really appreciate any input from owners or those w/ hylas experience. thanks
Tybee, one source - there are many, I''m sure, perhaps even a group of Hylas owners here on Sailnet - you could use for info on cruising a Hylas cutter is the SSCA. You might visit www.ssca.org and both post a query on their BB and also post a query on the Flea Market section where boats are offered for sale.
SAILED A 46 A FEW YEARS BACK FROM FT. LAUDERDALE TO ST. THOMAS. BOAT WAS NEW. SAILED VERY WELL, AND VERY FAST. QUALITY SEEMED TO BE GOOD. LARGE COCKPIT AND LARGE LOCKERS. STORAGE INSIDE MAY BE NOT THE GREATEST FOR LIVE ABOARD.
thanks for your input i will try those other boards.and i''m glad someone has had good experience w/hylas. we are going to visit the boat real soon as my friend has listed it.
