Little Wet Wed Boat

So, my (much more experienced) friend and I are looking at doing wet wendsdays. We''re both in our early 20''s and ok getting wet, and on a strict budget, as our respective first boats take a big enough chunk of our income. There is a laser 2 available in the harbor for a little under a grand, which we''re considering. Any other suggestions? Small and fast is prefered. Wet is fine. No accomidations are necessary. A phrf rating would be great, but if it doesnt have one, we''ll just have to look at our across the line time so that will work too. It''s more for fun zipping around the bouies then a "competetive rating" (eg, better a faster boat with a worse rating then a slow boat that happens to have a favorable rating)

Suggestions?

Thanks

-- James

James, you''re all over the water: 19'' weekender, to talk about cruising Mexico, to dinghy racing on Wed. nights. Next you''ll be opening your own sail loft!

(Ah, to be young again…)
Have fun!
Jeff

oh... a sail loft. Awsome. THATS how I''ll finance building my schooner!

In reality, it''s just that races start this weekend, I''ve got a willing partner, and progress on Josie is taking longer than expected due to 1.) my inability to do just about anything right the first time and 2.) the inherent ability of my boat to have the solving of any problem lead to the discovery of 2 or 3 far more serious ones. I think I''m just going to start breaking stuff, in the hopes that the trend will reverse, and pretty soon she''ll be in bristol fashion. =\

So Bleh, there''s for that. Yhea, right now I''m a b.o.a.t. owner and the sawzall gets bought this weekend. I''d like to work sailing in at some point soon, say, in between the traveler and mast, and the haulout.

*sigh* the joys of boat ownership. :
