Boat HIN doesn't make sense

Hi,

I ran into a small daysailor with SKM as the manufacturer in the HIN. I looked this up and found Skarne Marine. It seems they build some very nice commercial type boats but info on this daysailor (built in 75) is evading me. Anyone have some info history for this manufacturer code?

Thanks

Re: Boat HIN doesn't make sense

Prior to 1984 the HINs didn't have to make sense.

Re: Boat HIN doesn't make sense

Just be happy if the HIN matches the paperwork and is legible on a pre-1984 vessel
