Robert Perry''''s Islander 28 and 32

Is there anyone who knows about the build quality of the Islander Bahama boats? Specifically the Islander 28 and 32 Mark II designed by Robert Perry.
I like their interior and trim. They are nice looking and seem well built. I''m curious about the layup process (woven or chopped mat below the gel coat) and structural integrity for coastal cruising.
Thanks,
Mark L.

I have owned an Islander 28 for 9 years and have been very impressed with the structural integrity. I have no details as to the laminate, but the interior in the lockers, etc. is woven roving. You may want to contact Robert Perry in Seattle. The 28 is a wonderful sailor by the way.

Why not ask Bob?
From what I''ve seen recently he''s willing to answer questions like this.

You can find him at L&A or http://www.perryboat.com/

While he didn''t build them, I''m sure he has a pretty good feel for how they were built.
