I didn't see anything during making the video that struck me as scary/dangerous for $22. Anyone else?

good looking tri, looks to be well kept. seems like it should worth more than 22. If you are thinking don't wait long it should sell. offer 20 and if you can get it you will enjoy it

Considering it. Right now it's between this and the S2 9.2c for $26k. The S2 is much more liveable and way better equipped. The Tri is pretty bare. Two burner propane stove, a useless sink, manual head, depth finder, rigged for GPS but the handheld wasn't there, has tillerpilot but also not there, and a radar, which he either didn't know how to work or just didn't bring the laptop.
The S2 has a proper 3 burner stove, oven, a wood stove (heater), electric head and sit shower, proper sink, fridge, GPS/depth (no radar), little storage areas throughout, and "feels" much bigger inside.
I love the deck space of the tri but love the interior and ammenities of the S2. Sorta a toss up at this point. The tri is going to be way faster and I'm probably less likely to sink it and die in the ocean (n00b friendly) but is just very sparse. i'm trying to think of ways to outfit the try to be liveaboard friendly.

Deck space on a tri is useless space, unless you like all of your stuff moldy and mildewy or lost overboard the first time you hit some serious swells.

Oh, I just like it for myself. The S2 had decent deck space, but it's got nothin' on the Tri. The Tri has very little storage room, and isn't well laid out at all. I think at this point I'd be surprised if I bought the Tri (though I really do like it). It just doesn't suite my requirements well enough. If I had a friend with a private dock, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. As it stands though, I'd have no where to put it as well as all the stuff I'd need to liveaboard

Well, nothing for the time being. I think I've decided that a monohull anywhere near my price range isn't what I'm looking for. I don't like the layout of most tri's for long term use. I don't have enough money on hand to buy a proper Cat yet.

I think a Cat is the way to go for me. I should be able to afford something along the lines of a Lagoon 410/440 in a year or so. In the mean time I'm looking for an old powerboat or trawler purely for liveaboard. I figure if I get a year or so out of it, I can give it to someone who needs a place when I'm ready to move up to a Cat.

Aesthetics aside, I could live on that someplace warm where a "walk over" would not bother me and perhaps I had lots of warm dry places to visit as it is a bit claustrophobic. I did notice what looked like an unventilated propane locker, that was scarey.

Good call on the propane locker. I noticed that a month after shooting the video

As for the walkover... Yea, I could deal with a tri if I was planning on being somewhere warm. As it is now however, I'm in the PNW. If/when I get my boat, I can't imagine sticking around Vancouver for long. It sorta just works out that once I've got the money for a Cat, I've also got the long term (non-working) stability I need to disappear somewhere nice

Yea, I would not want a walkover in the PNW. You might want to look at the Gemini as they seem about the best smaller newish catamaran.
