2004 Chesapeake Bay Raft-up

The Watkins Sailboat Internet Yacht Club is holding its Secone Annual Chesapeake Bay Raft-up and Cruise, 5 - 12 June. The marina in Solomons is: Zahnisers.com contact Terry@ Zahnisers.com. The WEB site is WWW.zahnisers.com. Phone number is (410)326-2166. They will only take transient slip reservations over the phone, not by email.
For the welcome party they are offering a tented area on the hill over looking the marina with BBQ set up. But, it''s only available on Sunday the 6th. this will give all the late arrivals and long distance attandees time to square away their boats and their selves Saturday night and we will have the party Sunday afternoon. This will give the Southern boats, Terry, Bruce, Paul, Conrad and anyone else time to arrive.

1. Monday, 7 June, Vera''s White Sands [Polynesia on the Patuxent] this is a must see and a real classic. approx 12NM from Solomons a good afternoon sail diner and dock for the night or sail lunch and return to solomons.

2. Tuesday/Wednesday, June 8 & 9, Oxford 32NM sail spend 1 or 2 days and return many great restaurants and pubs etc. Oxford I can arrange for dockage or we can raft up they have water taxi service. My marina is in Oxford and we could raft up taxi to the marina to use the facilities, showers, laundry, bikes, etc. Oxford should be no more then an 8 to 9 hour run depending on weather have made it in less then 6 with good wind. This may appeal to everyone with the shops, hotels and plenty to do. I''ll have a vehicle or 2 there if anyone needs run to the Acme or something.

3. Thursday/Friday, 10 & 11 June, Smith Island 28NM sail spend the night and return. Not too much going on at Smith Is. Pretty quite there.

If you would like to atted please contact me at lapoints@bellsouth.net
