I agree with Tim R. I used the same surveyor as the seller, who was also recommended by a well-respected surveyor, and it worked out great. He was very thorough and was able to check on prior recommendations.

Depends on who did the last survey. Is he competent? does he have good credentials, client referals and so forth. The last surveyor might have been a dud or he might have been really good....same goes for the new surveyor. I don't think it should be a question of old or new surveyor but a question of ability and knowledge.
