Looking for a sailboat surveyor

I am looking for a surveyor in the Brunswick, GA area or Jacksonville, FL area. I found several, but most are power boat surveyors. I am looking for a surveyor that has experience with sailboat surveys. I just had my offer accepted on a Gemini M located in Brunswick,GA. The broker submitted a few names, but I would like to find someone without a long relationship to the brokerage firm. The rates that I found are from &12.00/ft to $28.00/ft Why the big discrepancy? They all include a survey, haul out (which I pay) and sea trial. Thanks

Re: Looking for a sailboat surveyor

Gary Frankovich with Accurate Marine Surveys in Jacksonville. Very pleased with his survey of my 1986 Bristol back in March. Very thorough and emailed the survey report the day after the survey and went back a few days later to inspect some sails and other equipment that were not on the boat at the time of the survey at no additional cost. He had no problem with me staying with him through the entire survey and discussed most of the findings at that time while looking at it.I would definitely use him again.

You can find him at marinesurveyor.com/accurate
