As a general discussion I am interested in people opinions about the construction quality of these three builders

T, you''d probably get much more useful info if you stated the boat size of interest to you and the approximate age of the boats of interest. There''s a huge span between a 70''s Bristol 24 and one of the new, modern Tartan''s or Sabre''s.

Mid to late 80''s Tartan 37''s, Sabre 38 and Bristol 38''s as examples. But I was mainly curious about the general quality of construction of these builders in that time frame.

"Good Old Boat" Magazine has had history articles on both Tartan and Sabre over the past year--sorry I don''t recall the months. You might be able to check their web site for the articles or back issues.

As far as specific years, Practical Sailor probably has reviews available, and their views tend to include references to changes in a manufacturer''s processes, materials, etc.
