Older 1980s C&C
 

Started out looking for a C&C 30 they are probabaly a bit out of my budget but don't seam to be any nice ones arround at the moment. took a look at a C&C 32.

I would be interested in any opinions. especialy problems with 32.
C&C have a generaly good rep but my mid 70's 24 had problems with leaks and blisters I would want to avoid. It sailed nicely.

check out cncphotoalbum.com. I've got am 83 35/3. Well made, durable good performers. The framless windows leak at some point in the boat's life. Many of the parts are still available. The owner's group is amazing. Good luck!

I sail on and maintain an '85 C&C 32 with Yanmar diesel. It is a good example of C&C quality and consistency. Aside from deck cracks on hard corners (forward where coach house meets deck, coming corners at back of cabin, helm seat port and starboard) the boat seems to stand up. All 32's have the dimple port and starboard on the hull below the chainplate close to water line. The galley floor near the stove is spongy. We'll pull the genoa tracks in the spring and rebed with butyl, as well as some other fittings. Boat is now with third owner, has seen some ocean time, and having spent a good deal of time in the cockpit locker I'm convinced the boat took a T-bone hit near the port secondary winch. No indication of bottom blisters.

Typical C&C repair completed - cabin windows replaced, hatch lenses replaced, some typical hardware replacement like stanchion bases, blocks, mast collar casting.

We have done well in club racing matching another 32.

All in all a good boat.

I sail in the BC, Vancouver, Southern Gulf Islands and San Jauns.
With a bigger boat would like to go further. Sailed a C&C 24 sold last spring

1980 was the big switch for C&C to more modern models. On these (and newer) you will find breakers (instead of fuses), ball valves (instead of gate), and yanmar diesels (instead of atomic 4). The 32 and 34 are both great boats....you won't go wrong. And the prices are coming down every year, as these boats get even older.

The 32 was nice but had a leak problem and was very damp inside. In the end I chose an 84 C&C 35. It surveyed well. though I have a bit of work to get it ready to sail home. looking forward to the voyage.

So you would up with an MKIII model. K/c or staight keel. Any pitcures?
Have you joined th C&C ownes forums. Good luck with her. I have had mine for 15 years now and shes been good to me:):)

A mark III with a fin keel. Sorry no pictures i dont know how to post them.
have not had chance to sail her yet. she is a long way from my home.
i do know Hull Id no but not sure wich no is the boat number hull built

We have a 30' C&C that we sail in Grand Traverse Bay she points well and very much loved by the whole family including grand kids. We do have do calk the toe rail every few years to keep things dry.
