Most sailboats are built to rest stably on their keels. The boat stands in the marina are there mostly to keep it centered -- and while it's good practise to put one under the bow, most boats with level keel bottoms won't pitch forward w/out one. When we lifted our Albin Ballad off the trailer and set it on the leveled blocks, we lowered the slings to let the boat settle onto its keel before bunking the hull. The boat balnced perfectly on that 6" wide base, even with the slings loose enuf to slide around. Helps to recall that 50% of the boats total mass is in the bottom 32" of the keel. It really, really wants to stand upright.
