offshore sailing

I am bying a van de stadt excalibur steel cutter 30fts Do anny boddy knows about this type of sail boat. It have a new motor and the hull is fresly painted. I never heard abbout van de stadt dose any one know about it?
Now I have a o'day 30 1978 fore sale.

That's write it is the neptune 30' 1984 van de stadt excalibur the hull is in perfect shape and it have an brain new motor. Did make a good deal on it.

Just from the pictures, the hull shape looks okay, though that doesn't say a lot. As for how comfortable it will be offshore, that depends a lot on its displacement and ballast numbers. Do you know those details? How about the ratio of sail area to displacement? That will have a lot to say about how well it is going to sail. I don't see those kind of statistics anywhere.
