Cal 39

As Summer approaches, the itch to buy a boat gets stronger. I am considering a Cal 39 (1970 model) to do some cruising in. Boat is located in Freeport, Texas which is a plus since I live in Texas. This seems to be a very sturdy boat with a good layout for an extended cruise. My concern with this boat has to do with it''s draft. I want to cruise the Carib and/or Central America and am concerned that its'' realitively deep keel will prevent entry into some ports/marinas. Anyone have any experience with the Cal 39 and its suitability for my purposes? Thanks!
