Nice try; actually, we thought of that.

The problem is that the registration personnel here in FL do not accept GA''s 3 digit number, but they see the manufacturing date on the form as infallible (sort of a catch-22). We had an inspector come out to inspect the boat and verify that there is no 12 digit number. Allegedly, they will be able to inform the tag office of this and that will be acceptable (At that time FL will assign a 12 digit number; what is unclear is whether I will have to emboss that number on the boat or what will be expected to permanently mark the boat). That inspection was allegedly accomplished on Wednesday, but we have not as of yet heard back from the Fish and Wildlife officer, but will be following up on it today. Again, we will keep everyone who is following this posted as soon as everything works out (or doesn''t).

For all of you who had been following this thread, I wanted to bring some closure. We are now registered and saling!

If you are interested in the full details of our "Registration Woes" (and resolutions) you can read about them at:
http://heartofgoldsails.com
and goto this year''s sailing logs.

Thanks for your input; it is a relief to have that behind us.

Doug
