Boat Transport

I am looking to move my boat between Alabama and Maryland and am curious if anyone has experience with moving a 38'' sailboat. So far I have contacted A1Haulaboat and Fast Track YS, any thoughts recommendations?

Boat Transport

Just moved from Texas to Maryland a 38-footer I purchased in May outside of Houston.

I thought long and hard about a delivery captain, but ultimately settled on having it shipped.

I found a company on-line in North Carolina called Deep Water Transport, which quoted me a price that was anywhere from 20 percent to 45 percent lower than other companies.

And when I couldn''t discern any difference in their level of service and expertise from the higher priced guys, I opted for Deep Water...and I''m glad I did.

I found them to be first-rate and they cared for my boat as if it were their own...and what more could you ask of anybody???

The only minor complaint I could raise was that their timetable for moving the boat slipped 2-3 times...probably about two weeks total. Like most truckers, they don''t want to have a dead-end haul, so it took a little longer than they initially thought to secure a return haul.

BTW, the costs were $2800. That''s what they initiallly quoted me and there were no hidden charges.

Michael
