Hunter 30 Reviews

I am a novice sailor looking at a 1981 Hunter 30 as my first boat. Any words of advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mark

Re: Hunter 30 Reviews

Help us out a little here. What are your plans for the boat...how many will usually be on board, does it have the amenities and creature comforts you need, are you just spending the weekends on it or weeks at a time, sailing fairly calm rivers and bays or do you want to cross oceans. Depending on your answers, we may say, it's a decent boat to meet your needs or keep looking.

And as Denise said, find a good surveyor.

Re: Hunter 30 Reviews

Thanks for the reply. I now live in the Keys, Tavernier, and pan to sail daily/overnight. Weekend trips and eventually Dry Tortugas. Only one or two and my dog will be on board.

Re: Hunter 30 Reviews

I sailed quite a bit on one of those in the early 80's that a friend owned. I always liked it. It could be a decent first boat if the condition and price are right.
