I've been checking out CLs online 30- 40 ish in length. They are really beautiful boats! Yes, I admit beauty is in the eye of the beholder but the joiner work, the interiors are beyond anything usa builders seem to offer.
I do understand with beauty comes work.. lots of work to maintain all the bright work. But even the ones with weathered teak are still a sight to behold. Cheoy Lee Sailboat Association Page2

I've not seen much about them on various forums so I wonder what people think of CLs Apparently they have been built in many designs by very well known designers. I'd love to hear about these boats!

Are you looking to buy one? If so several months ago a man passed away. He never took the boat out, but was constantly maintaining it. I believ e she is 31ft., and well equipped........i2f

I worked many years in a repair yard and even when almost new a lot of CL had deck problems. Many of the boats I worked on were not deck caulked correctly and that led to the non-marine grade plywood used as core being prone to rot. Also, the ports in a lot of the boats leaked which was easy enough to fix except a few of them were bedded with 5200 which led to a nightmare. Also the trailing edge of the rudder at the bottom many times delaminated for some reason but was a minor repair. All in all a good boat and I think one of the prettiest, but check the deck and cabin before buying.
