These are gorgeous boats to be sure but not really suited for long distance passagemaking. I looked at the 46' since I cruise a 45'. The killer is the displacement - it is only 9000 pounds. My Bristol is 36000 lbs. This translates into tankage and the ability to carry the large amounts of crap one needs for extended cruising. The website did not mention tankage - I can't imagine it would be much.
They certainly appeal to my traditional eye, but they are in that new category of toy, the 'daysailor' for people of means (see also the Morris and other daysailors). looks like a lovely boat to sail and would be ok for a few days' cruise but it would make no sense to try to cruise one of these for any length of time.
Back home on Lake Ontario after something over 36,000 nm circumnavigator. Not surprisingly there is a lot of stuff I want to get done on Ainia both cosmetically and functionally. Getting an early start so it will be ready to go for next summer (Lake Superior?).
