True Spirit is an accounting of a start of a dream, over coming fears & dylexica and Nay-sayers. Her dream started at age eleven, learning her craft of seamanship, convincing parents and others on how earnst she is and finally the preparations for the voyage. Then you have the voyage along with squalls, storms, torn sails and multible knock downs, one of which was up to 180 degrees. That is with your mast pointing straight down and not up.
An excellent book filled with overcoming fears, mopes and especially the joy of sailing. The achieving of all of the small & large goals up to her most major accomplishment of sailing around the world.

Though Jessica is not a legend yet, she is too young and many adventures of life still lay ahead of her. But she does have a good start.

You could say that I really enjoyed this book. Read it three going on four times so far... Yes worth re-reading.

I agree with Boasun. I enjoyed the book very much. I was lucky enough to be in Sydney (almost a year ago) the day Jessica completed the circumnavigation. It was impressive to see thousands of people waiting for her, all around the harbor. It was an exceptional day. Her book is very entertaining.

Upon your recommendation, I bought this book from Amazon.com. It was less than 10 bucks in used condition.

I am going save it until I go solo circumnavigating the globe. It will help me not crying for my Mummy in the time of crisis.
