buying a gemini105mc first time cat sailor

Thanks to the Load bearing member. Your advise to wait until later in the season was
taken but now the season is getting closer. I am wating to make the call to the broker who
can set up a test sail. I have to travel to florida or wait a month to travel to annapolis md..
I live on long island new york .The trip can be 1000 miles or 400 miles. There are
a few boats on long island but I would have to knock on the door of the owner to
make contact. Then I may not to buy the local boat and inconvience the local owner. The
sales company will have boats in the water ready to show and test. This is more impersonal
even if the sales people automatically become your best friend. Would you knock on the door or
deal with the broker.

Thank you Al the builder first time cataramarn sailor to be

Welcome to SailNet, Al. I think a dealer/broker is your best bet; maybe they would be able to find one 'in the water'. Otherwise, the seller's season starts when yours does. I think you should rethink your schedule and plan to buy later in the season if you need some stick time to make up your mind.
