Do you have stock
rigging? There is not too much negotiation on rake. When you tune the
rig, make sure the sail track is straight, not warped or twisted. Measure port to starboard to a stanchion base with a halyard to be sure the
rig is not tilted to one side. The bow sets the rake via the
jib furler, if you have one. The mast, being deck stepped, should be virtually straight. As far as weather helm, Bristol 32's get real bad weather helm if there is too much sail out. The steering is comparable to rack and pinion, you "feel" the water. Most sailboats, the
wheel feels like power steering and you can tell nothing of what is going on. The B32 is much more obvious when over canvased as you can really feel the weather helm.
