Bristol 40 Packing Gland Repair

I just purchased a Bristol 40 with a 4107 V-Drive. I can not reach the packing gland to replace the packing. Does anyone know how to get to the Gland. Or has anyone come up with a modification to make the gland easy to service? Any ideas or thoughts will be appreciated.
