We are looking at a ''86 Cal 22 as a boat to learn on. Its an extended family member''s boat and seems to be little used. Any opinions?

Thanks,

John

These are nice boats for a first boat. They sail reasonably well, are easy to maintain and should be a good place to start. That said, where do you plan to sail?

Jeff,

Hey we are owners! Got the boat, trailer, motor, new jib with a harken furler, autohelm, and lots of tlc needed for 3k. The boat is in great shape but has been stored for a couple of years so needs cleaned and polished.

We hope to get all that done this winter and then maybe get a slip at Blue Mesa Dam about 2 hours from Grand Junction. Hoping to get in a few trips to Lake Powel also.

More plans will surely come along. We are pretty excited and will probably be back on here soon looking for advise what to do next when questions arise.

Thanks,

John
