To Tall for my C&C 30MK1

I love my boat. I don''t really want a bigger boat. I just want to be able to sleep stretched out and have a little head room!
Does anyone have any suggestions?
1) I would like a boat that sails like the 30mk1. Stiffer is better (for my needs).
2) Costs 50K or less.
3) Under 36 ft.
4) Less than 6 ft draft (or C/B).
5) Reasonable head and berth room or a guy over 6''1". I almost live on my boat in the summer so this is important.
6) A usable shower would be nice.
7) Sloop rigged.
8) Aft cabin would be a dream come true.

What I''m considering...C&C 35 MKIII, Ericson 3???, C&C34 (too tender?), Sabre 3???, C&C 34+ (Probably out of my price range), Tartan 3???, CS 33, Keeping what I''ve got...It''s paid for
Thanks!

If your handy?and like to do mod.s,headroom can be added in small amounts by lowering floorboards(thining out and or lowering) ,and taking out headliner=painting inside were haedline was taking up space,I gained 1.5in. in my boat
All the bunks in a Mega are 6ft.6in.to start with, but there are a few trick you can do to V berths that add room, and side bunks can run longer by opening foot holes in end cabets making them longer.

Thanks for the suggestion. I''m not much of a carpenter though. I''ve been searching the web and it looks like it will just have to be a bigger boat.

Is there a website that compares how one boat should sail vs. another?

I cannot find the origin of all this, the discussion, ( http://www.sailingusa.info/cal__capsize.htm ), but if you look at this formula and fill the exact weight of any boat you fancy in, and the exact widthe of the boat too, then you will get a kurtly, and despite anyones opinion, accurate finger pointer to a capsize count, (in english, if the boat will turn over in hard weather). Any boat having a count higher than 2.0 wil be unsafe to a degree, which gets more serious the more the count goe''s up! (towards 3). These higher than 2 boat counts don''t make a boat unsafe, in normal sailing conditions! Ignore the clever remarks following this, they are cobwebs in the cuboard, this formula is made by experts in sailing and though not 100% accurate, it is as near that as can be. Remember yourself to get ALL the weather
reports you can before sailing offshore.
Regards and good sailing!

BULL....

Interesting that the author says Ignore the clever remarks which will follow ....

Well. ignore the not so clever remarks above. to simply say that a heavier boat capsizes less than a lighter boat, or a smaller beam less than a wide beam is just ridiculous at best ...

Having saidd that ... now the real experts can give their well founded findings and much needed real clever advice about the subject.

I agree there is a general lack of information about headroom and berth lengths in the general boating literature. Which leaves the virtically challenged among us (I''m 6''5") not knowing what models to look at. I suppose that means walking the docks and getting in a bunch of boats. You may find that Bill Dietrich''s site (www.geocities.com/bill_dietrich/SiteMap.html) under "Boat Models" may have some useful information. He reports berth lengths and headroom in a variety of common sailboats.

Good Luck

Look at a Newport 30. They''re not so plentiful on the East coast, but worth the search. Headroom abounds. Nice interior. Haven''t sailed one yet, though.
