finngulf 34 - design review

http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/pl_boat_detail.jsp?currency=USD&units=Feet&checked _boats=1313797&slim=quick&

I''d appreciate comments - speculation - on this Finngulf 34. What would the experienced among you expect in the way of sailing characteristics -- plus & minus? Any familiarity with the quality of construction from Finngulf during the 1980s?

finngulf 34 - design review

We have a Finngulf 41 and know the builder - Stig Nordblad has been operating Finngulf for over 20 years. I have not sailed on a 34 but expect its a typical well-built Scandinavian boat of that era, narrower than modern boats and with more pinched ends but not extreme. All his designs till recently were by Hakan Sodergren. The 34 rates 1.15 LYS in Scandinavia, by contrast an Aphrodite 101 (which rates around 132 PHRF) rates 1.17, which I''d guess is around 10-15 seconds faster PHRF. A 34 that rates 144 PHRF is no rocketship but no slug either.

The build quality should be good. Stig is interested in screwing together a good boat.
