This era of Cals are much upgraded and modernized from the original Lapworth Cals (which are pretty good boats too - but the flush deck look of early 20s, 25s & 28s were not for everyone)
I think, like SF, that if your find a good one you'll have a prefectly adequate coastal cruising boat with good
lines and accomodation along with good performance and habits.
IIRC in those times Rangers, Cals and perhaps others all came under the same corporate umbrella (Bangor Punta and then Lear Seigler) before production was ended.
