Allmand 1980 30'''' Questions

I have seen a 1980 Allmand 1980 sailboat that seems to be the perfect boat for me (first large boat)

Does anyone have any information on this model or any advice

Thanks

Sandor

Allmand 1980 30'''' Questions

I resurrected an Allmand Sail 31, l982, after 5 years of abandonment. I''ve had it for 3 years and have redone a lot of stuff. Anything I can answer, I will be happy to do so. What engine do you have? Mine is an Atomic (Kubota) 2 cyl. diesel. Great cruiser, on the Cheasapeake Bay. Let me know what you need.

Allmand 35'

How about more information on the thread above.

I'm also intrested in a Allmand 35' 1982 Tri-cabin.

How do they sail, point to windward?
Would you consider this to do a offshore passage, or only coast curiser?
The cockpick is roomy, too roomy?
The chain plates bolted to the settee's do they consider this to be strong!
Why would I not want to buy this style of sail boat

There's a good review/profile of an Allmand 31 in the most recent issue of Good Old Boat. Look for it at your local book store or try the Good Old Boat website.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
