garyp is on a distinguished road
Many Thanks!

To all who participated in the numerous questions I posed to this board, all of your input was very much appreciated and helpful. We found our boat! and we are very happy with her. She is a Pearson 323 in excellent condition, very well cared for by her previous owner, and passed survey with flying colors.
What I learned: keep an open mind. The 323 was not a boat we had even previously considered; we thought we wanted a larger, K/CB boat, but found plenty of room in 32''. She is fairly heavy compared to most newer boats her size, but we find the weight comforting in the vicious Pamlico chop, and she came with a Flasher for light air.
My advice: find the smallest boat that fits your needs, and buy the best one you can afford.
Also, I highly recommend Ron Eberle of New Bern, NC if you need a surveyor in North Carolina.. He is knowledgable and extremely thorough.
See you in the Bahamas this Spring!
Gary

Jeff_H will become famous soon enough
Many Thanks!

Congratulations....The Pearson 323 is a really nice boat. I am also glad that you found Ron Eberle. Ron surveyed a boat for me, and I thought that he was one of the best, if not the absolute best, marine surveyors that I have encountered.
