O'Day 25

I have a friend who is considering a purchase of an O'day 25. It will be used on a large lake in TX as a weekender for him and his wife. He is a little past the beginner stage of his sailing ability, he has been crewing on my boat for beercan races for about a year now.

Anyway, any idea of build quality of these boats? How do they handle? From looking at it, I suspect it may be a little rough to handle in heavier winds.

Also, the rigging looks a little bit light weight to me. Reflective of the rest of the quality of the boat?

ODay 25s do just fine on Lake Michigan which must be a lot larger than the lake you speak of. They are OK boats. Certainly there are better built 25s, but these are in the same class as Catalinas and Hunters. Your friend could do a lot worse.
