Looking for small sailboat

Hello,
I am looking for a small sailboat that is light and easy to pull in and out of the water with a trailer and truck. (I think a centerboard would be appropriate and not a fixed keel). and yet has a V-berth. Outboard engine is preferred. I have been looking at a 19' O'day Mariner and it seems about the right size. Are there any other kinds of boats that I should be considering. Does Cal make a boat that is similar to the O'day. Light day-sailer, yet has a v-berth, and can take an outboard motor.

Look at a West Wight Potter. A lot of boat in a small size.

A friend of mine has a mariner. It's a nice little boat, sails well and launches reasonably well, although his trailer doesn't seem to fit well and sometimes it's a pain to get it centered. you can find these boats pretty cheap. usually well under 2K and in the fall under 1K. I think it would be a good introduction to sailing at a reasonable price. Jim L

IIRC there was a version of the Drascombe Lugger that had a small cuddy cabin with v-berth...

There's always the Catalina 22. Not a centerboarder, but you can get one with a swing keel. A little bigger than your 19-footer and they weigh in around 2,500 pounds. Has a v-berth as well as berths in main cabin. Can take an outboard anywhere from 5 to 10 HP, although it should be a long shaft.

How about a J/22... has a deck stepped mast, lightweight, but fast on the water, and very roomy cockpit.

Corsair F24, and the Farrier Eagle are also good candidates, if you're into multihulls. However, the Eagle was primarily produced as a daysailer with a very small cuddy cabin and no v-berth.
