Columbia 45

Does anyone have any sailing experiance on a Columbia 45? I''m interested in knowing how they sail from someone who actually has sailed or preferably owned one.Stiff-tender?point ok? speed? Quality of construction? Biggest problem or weakness with this particular boat? I know these are getting to be pretty old boats and will probably need work,but I am mostly interested in the sailing ability of the vessel. Thanks,Dave

Dave, you can see a couple of good pictures of one at Latitude38.com. Go into the June ''Lectronic Latitude under June 19th. This guy beat us in a 27 mile doublehanded race in fairly heavy winds here on San Francisco Bay. It was mostly a reaching race - we were first-to-finish in our J-33 (PHRF 90) and this guy was hot on our tail the whole race. I think the C-45 rates 126 here. He corrected out 2-3 minutes ahead and won. I was impressed at how fast this pilothouse cruising boat was!
